M27 – Dumbbell Nebula also known as NGC6853 in the constellation Vulpecula, The Dumbbell Nebula is approximately 1,360 light years from Earth. The nebula can actually be seen with binoculars and amateur telescopes. M27 is composed of gas ejected from a dying star. Most of what remains of this star is the white dwarf at the center of the object. All the expanding gas and dust in this image was at one point inside the star. Found at http://buff.ly/198KLKS
