This pair of Meadow Browns were in this position for ages, deep within a bed of thistles.
A light breeze swept the hillside which made photography more difficult, but I managed to get a few reasonable shots.
There were scores and scores of these butterflies in the meadows and on the rough pasture land. The two warm days really seems to have brought them out in numbers
