This was an impromptu trip out to the Perth Observatory for the first time. The conditions were perfect – no clouds, no moon, and a rising Milky Way – but the gates were shut! So I ended up shooting a 17 image panorama of the Milky Way rising over the treeline just outside the entrance.

Something about seeing the center of our galaxy just puts everything into perspective, even though it was freezing up there!
