This is a Goliath Beetle one of the largest insects in the world. It is one of over 450,000 known species of Beetles. The diversity is due to #NaturalSelection the vehicle that makes #Evolution work. It was 90 years ago today, July 21, 1925 that John Scopes was found guilty of teaching human evolution despite the efforts if his attorney, Clarence Darrow. The case was appealed to the Tennessee Supreme Court where the conviction was set aside…..because Scopes was fined $100 and state law prohibited a fine of more than $50.
