This one with the wonderful lion is Africa, and she is wearing an elephant’s head for a hat. This 1930 installation at the end of a long lane of flowering trees was apparently meant to pay homage to a similar collection "The Four Continents" in the Palace Garden of Versailles. L’Afrique (the original) was sculpted in marble by Jean Cornu in the late 17th century. The statues are similar, but do not match.
