In observance of Earth Day 2009, NOAA released this GOES-12 satellite image captured on April 22, 2009. The image was developed with the use of infrared cloud imagery. GOES-12 launched on July 23, 2001, and was retired on August 13, 2013. (go.usa.gov/3G79R)
