A gnarled juniper skeleton out in the Canyonlands desert. High temps of around 104 during the day made us appreciate the cool, starry nights that much more. Given the incredible absence of light pollution, the conditions were already MUCH appreciated. I even like the look given by the green airglow (yes, it’s one word) in this shot.
