There are certain fabrics — cotton muslin, shiny silk, natural wool — that move Julie Robert (@julie_weaves). “When I touch fabrics, a lot of things appear in my head, like ideas and combinations with other fabrics to create a piece,” says Julie, a textile designer who taught herself to weave on the Internet two years ago. For six months, she practiced every day, undoing and redoing every line to push herself to learn new techniques.
