Photograph by @thomaspeschak A Cape Gannet comes in to land on South Africa’s Malgas Island. Despite the strictest protection measures for this nesting colony gannet numbers have declined over the past decade. A lack of sardines and anchovies, the birds preferred prey, due to oceanographic changes and overfishing are to blame. Unpublished photograph from my Dec 2014 @natgeo story Cross Currents. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative For more photographs of seabirds and remote islands please follow @thomaspeschak by natgeo http://ift.tt/1T8me0U
