Nearly half of the world’s roughly 800 remaining mountain gorillas live in the Virunga Mountains of central Africa, at the intersection of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Obviously by protecting mountain gorillas we ensure beautiful and resilient forests and not least livelihoods for local people too.
