Bald Eagle Parents Watching Over the Nest – Nest # 2 I was going through some old photos from this season and came across this one of both parents in the nest tree. For those that have been following the eaglets since the beginning, you can tell mom is on the left (with the drooping pupil) and dad on the right. Believe it or not this is the only photo I have of both of them in the nest, unlike nest # 1 both of the parents would often be in the tree together. The perching branch that they are on came down in a windstorm back in June and used to be a favorite perching spot for mom. Tough times for eagles in the first year, a local raptor rehab recently brought in 18 youngsters with a variety of injuries.
