Photograph by @paulnicklen for @natgeo in British Columbia. I was sitting right next to this black bear while he fished for salmon in a small creek during the pink salmon run. I was only a few feet away and was carrying the wrong lens so I started to photograph details of his fur. I love how the water was washing over his claws and furry paws. I leaned my camera against a log and used a 2 second exposure to try and capture the energy of this moment. I love it when a photograph reveals details that we would otherwise miss with our eyes like the water shooting off his front right claw. We have been photographing grizzly bears this week in Alaska and I will soon be posting my favorite images from that shoot on @paulnicklen.
