@stevewinterphoto @natgeo The news out of Tanzania is horrifying – the country has lost 60% of their elephants in the last 5 years. From 109,000 in 2009 to 43,300 at the end of 2014. Government officials need to stand up to the organized cartels that murder elephants for their ivory. It has been stated that the trade could not be happening without high level govt. participation. We can each participate on social media and make our voices heard for the elephants like this little one in Botswana that have no voice in their bloody future. Stop the demand and the killing can too. Every 15 minutes a elephant is killed for its ivory. We need to make owning ivory an act unbecoming of a civilized people. We need to all become people who respect the lives of elephants and their right to walk this earth as they have for 1000’s of years – free and safe from harm by humans.
