Photo taken by @stevemccurryofficial // For two thousand years, the route of the Grand Trunk Road (GT) has connected a ribbon of humanity stretching Northwest from Kolkata, India, the city of culture and joy, to Kabul, the city of conflict and danger. It was the route of merchants, buyers, conquerors, refugees, prophets, nomads and pilgrims through what is today India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Rudyard Kipling said, “And truly the Grand Trunk Road is a wonderful spectacle. Such a river of life as no where else exists in the world.” I shot this picture of reflections at the Taj Mahal in Agra, which is one of the many cities along the road.
