Even record harvests haven’t been able to support the nation’s 90 million people, forcing it to become the leading rice importer. I took this photograph of young farmers learning to harvest rice from their grandmother for the @NatGeo magazine story, #EndofPlenty, a multi-country assignment looking at the rising costs of food and how we feed ourselves around the world.
