Photo by @davidalanharvey | Retro. My first major story outside the U.S. for NatGeo was a 56 page essay on the Maya culture in both Guatemala and Mexico. This story changed me forever and I have remained attached to all the Spanish influenced cultures ever since. The Maya in particular captured my imagination keeping so much of their indigenous roots even after 500 years of a Spanish conquest. This Kodachrome from Solola overlooking Lake Atitlán in the Guatemala highlands. #guatemala #maya #lakeatitlan by natgeo http://bit.ly/1WrCLcw
