THE KEEP ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK – THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS Disk 1
CD2 is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oc6tflsFlN4
This is a 2013 bootleg of the music from The Keep, including every music cue from the film and the movie trailer.
For better audio quality, change the video quality to 720p (the gear icon in the lower right of your youtube window). Not as good as the original .aiff files on my CDR, but OK.

There was an “official soundtrack” to The Keep released by TDI in 1997. Very good music, but sadly it only contained a few minutes of music from the actual film. In 2024 Johannes Schmoelling said TD never recorded an official soundtrack album and that he had never heard most of that music before, which makes it appear that it was mostly an Edgar Froese solo album recorded many years after.
Here is what Johannes Schmoelling’s said about that “official” TDI soundtrack in Vinegar Syndrome’s 2024 Interview – “I left the band in Summer 1985, and Christoph left in 1987. That means until we left the band there was no authorized soundtrack of The Keep. Never, ever. We never, ever reworked the music for a soundtrack release. That means there is no authorized soundtrack of The Keep. I’m referring to this CD here (the 1998 Officially Authorized soundtrack from Edgar Froese/TDI). It is a release on the TDI label around 1998. Ancient Power Plant is track 2, but I must say, I have never heard this song before. The tracks Heritage Survival and Sign in the Dark are pieces of music which we usually played in our concerts, and I think it’s possible that we also played them in our concert at the Dominion in November 1982 in London, but…these music tracks are not part of the film. The track Night in Romania is part of the movie, but during the production of the score, we called that music the Rejuvenation Theme. I found a copy of that score in my archive.”
There have been numerous bootlegs in the past 30 years that do contain some of this music. This 2013 bootleg is the best, including every major piece of music heard in the film in proper running order, almost devoid of sound effects, includes several unreleased tracks, and runs nearly 2 hours. TANGERINE DREAM’S LOGOS LIVE album was the source for some of the music in the film, and is one of TD’s best live recordings. The RUBYCON album also contains some of the music heard in the film. I highly recommend you purchase both official releases, which are still available. NEVER PAY FOR BOOTLEGS OF OFFICIAL RELEASES!
