Lyrics:
You know the hardest thing is to say goodbye to someone you love That’s the hardest thing x2
Every face you forgot
Father’s jaw
They suspend the clock
Another start
Get another chance to love
I hear you now, I understand you lost today to get tomorrow back but
But what are the tolls?
That’s the hardest thing we’ve been sold
And I’m not your enemy
Your legacy frightens me will I keep it gold or will it spoil
Before I get the chance to grow old
I don’t know if I can take this anymore
So why are you trying to break me?
I don’t know if I can stay on board (I’m on board)
You know the hardest thing is to say goodbye to someone you love
That’s the hardest thing
And I’m not your enemy
Your legacy frightens me will I keep it gold or will it spoil
Before I get the chance to grow old
You know the hardest thing is to say goodbye to someone you love
That’s the hardest thing
‘Cause I’m not your enemy
Your atoms gone
You stand alone
And everything you gave to someone you love
That’s the hardest thing
That’s the hardest thing
I don’t know if I can take this anymore
So why are you trying to break me?

https://www.youtube.com/watch/N7xjrZpPo5g MAGA and Republicans TURN ON Trump Over War with Iran
The war in Iran enters its second week and Donald Trump declares that it’s about to end — and also that it’s going to last a very long time. Jon, Tommy, and Lovett react to the president’s conflicting statements, the cascading global energy crisis he created, and the way Republicans — especially warmonger Lindsey Graham — are reacting to the war. Then, they discuss why some Democrats are hesitant to cut off funding for the strikes, the administration’s arrests of American citizens protesting its deportation campaign, and the Trump sons’ new business venture: drone warfare. Then, Tommy talks to Congressman Pat Ryan, an Iraq War veteran, about our new war and what Democrats can do to oppose it.

Crooked believes that we need a better conversation about politics, culture, and the world around us—one that doesn’t just focus on what’s broken, but what we can do to fix it. At a time when it’s increasingly easy to feel cynical or hopeless, former Obama staffers Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, and Tommy Vietor have created a place where people can have sane conversations that inform, entertain, and inspire action. In 2017 they started Crooked with Pod Save America—a no-bullshit conversation about politics. Since then, we continue to add shows, voices, and opportunities for activism, because it’s up to all of us to do our part to build a better world. That’s it. End of mission.
https://www.youtube.com/watch/a_ME1g2U7NI What is Trump’s exit strategy from Iran? | ask ian
In this “ask ian,” Ian Bremmer explains why the Trump administration may be looking for a way out of the US–Israel war with Iran, even as Israel appears determined to keep fighting.
“The easiest way to declare victory is to narrow the war aims,” Ian says, pointing to US goals like destroying Iran’s navy and ballistic missile capabilities.
But Israel is pushing for a much broader outcome. Israeli leaders want to go further, targeting Iran’s nuclear capabilities and weakening the regime itself. That makes a quick US exit difficult. “Getting the Israelis to stop is hard,” Ian explains, noting that Israel believes it is making real military progress.
Meanwhile, the risk to global energy markets remains high as Iran retains the ability to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Even if the US wants an off-ramp, Ian argues the conflict may drag on if Israel continues to escalate and Iran continues to retaliate.

**** NOTES: ****
The beauty of the Playful Horses is that there’s nothing else I’ve come across in nature that evokes a feeling of freedom, innocence, and longing.
Diane Luckey (Q Lazzarus) was a singer from New Jersey, USA. In the ’80’s she moved to New York City and began making music with her band, Q Lazzarus and The Resurrection. She worked as a cab driver to make a living. She also worked as a live-in housekeeper and au pair for a businessman at the time and would record music at his home. She happened to pick up director Jonathan Demme for a cab fare one day during a blizzard and played him her band’s demo tape in the cab. “Oh my God, what is this and who are you?” was his response. He then used her music in several of his films including Something Wild, Married To The Mob, Philadelphia (which she both appeared and sang), and The Silence of The Lambs.
By the mid 1990’s Diane had all but disappeared from the public eye. She later worked as a bus driver, one of many of her storied history of occupations over the years.
She passed away July 19, 2022 from sepsis after having broken her leg. Her memory and music continues to live on.
A documentary film was released in 2025, “Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives of Q Lazzarus”. The soundtrack is amazing.
