    “It don’t come easy,
You know it don’t come easy.

    It don’t come easy,
You know it don’t come easy.

Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues,
And you know it don’t come easy.
You don’t have to shout or leap about,
You can even play them easy.

Forget about the past and all your sorrows,
    The future won’t last,
It will soon be over tomorrow.

I don’t ask for much, i only want your trust,
And you know it don’t come easy.
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time,
And you know it just ain’t easy.

Open up your heart, let’s come together,
    Use a little love
And we will make it work out better.

    (ah -)
    (ah -)
    (ooh-ooh)
    (ah-ooh-ooh)

Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues,
And you know it don’t come easy.
You don’t have to shout or leap about,
You can even play them easy.

Peace, remember peace is how we make it,
    Here within your reach
If you’re big enough to take it.

I don’t ask for much, i only want your trust,
And you know it don’t come easy.
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time,
And you know it don’t come easy.”

“Outside of this inside of that
    The memory lingers so right
    Completely as that
We’ve loved a long time, be my friend, I need you
Inside of this and outside of that
There’s so much more to finding out
How we forever simply feel the way the wayward-winds that hide the storms at night
Like the winter came, it changed our lives
We were very merry to be there
Our love, get used to being this way
Our love, once again a story really true creates a sound so good-That it’s true

    Outside of this
    Inside of that
There are words that come with time
Like love songs they seem self written
So true, they seem so true
    I work a moments time
And feel this is one of lifes mysteries
    Bringing a smile
‘Cos I know wot it does to you
So I’m trying to pass it thru
    Trying for you

Countless variations of the memory the state
The mere emotion of getting round

Crazy understandings of the way we tilt the light
But it shines when we make the sound
    Don’t live by mistakes
We can dance to your tune
But in reaching out touching your love
    Feel those countless understandings
    On the countless many reasons
There are to offer you my love
Countless understandings of a ghetto starving nation
Needing love I tell no lie
Countless staring messages as mortal life reflection
As it’s spelt out once or twice
    But there’s this whole understanding
    And it’s coming I guess-I know-
I hope that you can get into this
    To this
I was there and then and then
You were there and then and then
We were there the beginning of time
I was there and then and then
You were there and then and then
We were there the beginning of time”

HIROSHIMA, Japan — The United States ambassador participated for the first time on Friday in an annual ceremony to mark the anniversary of the atomic bombing here in World War II, raising hopes that President Obama may soon follow.

With the mournful gonging of a Buddhist temple bell and the release of doves, a crowd of 55,000 solemnly marked the moment 65 years ago when the world’s first atomic attack incinerated this city under a towering mushroom cloud.

During the ceremony, Hiroshima’s mayor welcomed the ambassador, John Roos, and praised President Obama as one of the world leaders who “wielded their powerful influence” to rid the world of nuclear weapons.

During the solemn ceremony at the city’s peace park within sight of the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome, other speakers also praised Mr. Obama’s call last year in Prague for a denuclearized world.

“We greet this August 6 with re-energized determination that no one else should ever have to suffer such horror,” said the mayor, Tadatoshi Akiba. “Clearly, the urgency of nuclear weapons abolition is permeating our global conscience.”

    via nytimes.com

“It is time to move from “ground zero to global zero,” Mr. Ban said in a speech, referring to the elimination of nuclear weapons. “For many of you, that day endures as vivid as the white light that seared the sky, as dark as the black rain that followed.””

“That’s why I got mad last week,” Weiner concludes in his NY Times Op-ed. That’s also why I’m going to fight for this bill when we come back in session in September. I’m still angry. Playing politics on important issues is never right. But on health care for 9/11 responders, it’s an outrage.”

    “Follow the light that glows
    Through your bedroom window.
    Tonight, tonight, the fading twilight.
There’s a hollow deep in the woods
    Where you know you’re crazy
To go, to go, not even meant to know
    There are…

Pictures in the dark, I see all around.
    Voices calling underground
And I’m watching the stars since the
    World was found.

    One, two, three.

    [ Chorus ]

Pictures in the dark, I see
    Morpheus comes to me.
Pictures in the dark, I see.
    Aurora sets you free.

    And in the deepest dark
You come to a maze in.
The night, the night, the fading twilight.
And you shiver the glistening path
    Where you know you’re crazy
To go, to go, not even meant to know.
    There are…

Pictures in the dark, I see all around.
    Voices calling underground
And I’m watching the stars since the
    World was found.

    One, two, three.

    Lost in my dreams.

    This night will never end.
You can only fly in your dreams.
    Midnight will be your friend.
    Drift away on starlight beams.
Clocks are ticking the night away.
You can only fly until dawn ascends.

    [ Repeat Chorus ]

    The moon shines starlight beams
And you’ll be flying in your dreams.

    [ Repeat Chorus ]

    The moon shines starlight beams
And you’ll be flying in your dreams.”

Surely not to live in pain and fear
Why on earth are you there
    When you’re ev’rywhere
    Come and get your share

    Well we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
    Yeah we all shine on

    “Mm ba ba de
    Um bum ba de
Um bu bu bum da de
    Pressure pushing down on me
Pressing down on you no man ask for
Under pressure – that burns a building down
    Splits a family in two
    Puts people on streets
    Um ba ba be
    Um ba ba be
    De day da
    Ee day da – that’s o.k.
    It’s the terror of knowing
    What this world is about
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming ‘Let me out’
Pray tomorrow – gets me higher
Pressure on people – people on streets
    Day day de mm hm
    Da da da ba ba
    O.k.
Chippin’ around – kick my brains around the floor
These are the days it never rains but it pours
    Ee do ba be
    Ee da ba ba ba
    Um bo bo
    Be lap
People on streets – ee da de da de
People on streets – ee da de da de da de da
    It’s the terror of knowing
    What this world is about
    Watching some good friends
    Screaming ‘Let me out’
Pray tomorrow – gets me higher high high
Pressure on people – people on streets
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don’t work
    Keep coming up with love
but it’s so slashed and torn
    Why – why – why ?
    Love love love love love
Insanity laughs under pressure we’re cracking
Can’t we give ourselves one more chance
Why can’t we give love that one more chance
Why can’t we give love give love give love give love
give love give love give love give love give love
‘Cause love’s such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And love dares you to change our way of
    Caring about ourselves
    This is our last dance
    This is ourselves
    Under pressure
    Under pressure
    Pressure”

“Tis true, my form is something odd
but blaming me, is blaming God.
    Could I create myself anew
I would not fail in pleasing you.”
    – Joseph Merrick

    “(God works in mysterious ways)

    (I had a dream..)
    Hey!
One man one goal Har! one mission.
One heart one soul just one solution
One flash of light yeah one god one vision

    One flesh one bone
    One true religion
    One voice one hope
    One real decision
    Wowowowow gimme one vision
    Eh!

    No wrong no right
I’m gonna tell you there’s no black and no white
    No blood no stain
All we need is one world wide vision

    One flesh one bone
    One true religion
    One race one hope
    One real decision
Wowowowow oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah!

    I had a dream
    When I was young
    A dream of sweet illusion
A glimpse of hope and unity
And visions of one sweet union
    But a cold wind blows
    And a dark rain falls
And in my heart it shows
Look what they’ve done to my dreeeeaaam…yeah!

    One vision
    So give me your hands
    Give me your hearts
    I’m ready
    There’s only one direction
    One world one nation
    Yeah one vision

    No hate no fight
    Just exultation
    All through the night
    It’s a celebration
    Wowowowow yeah

    One one one one…
    One vision…
    (hey!)

    One flesh one bone
    One true religion
    One voice one hope
    One real decision

    Gimme one light, yeah
    Gimme one hope, hey
    Just gimme, ah
    One man one man
    One bar one night
    One day hey hey
    Just gimme gimme gimme gimme
    Fried chicken

    Vision…vision…”

    “(Happy Christmas, Kyoko
    Happy Christmas, Julian)

    So this is Christmas
    And what have you done
    Another year over
    A new one just begun
    And so this is Christmas
    I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
    The old and the young

    A very merry Christmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let’s hope it’s a good one
    Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (War is Over, if you want it, war is over now)repeat with verse
    For weak and for strong
The rich and the poor ones
    The road is so long
    So happy Christmas
    For black and for white
    For yellow and red ones
    Let’s stop all the fight

    A very merry Christmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let’s hope it’s a good one
    Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (War is over, if you want it, war is over now) repeat with verse
    And what have we done
    Another year over
And a new one just begun
    And so this is Christmas
And we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
    The old and the young

    A very merry Christmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let’s hope it’s a good one
    Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
    War is over now

    Merry Christmas”

“Perhaps there was no limit, there might, quite likely, be no such condition as the ultimate; there might be no time when any creature or any group of creatures could stop at any certain point and say, this is as far as we can go, there is no use of trying to go farther. For each new development produced, as side effects, so many other possibilities, so many other roads to travel, that with each step one took down any given road there were more paths to follow. There’d never be an end, he thought — no end to anything.”

  • Union of Concerned Scientists: A Safer World STARTs With This Simple Step

    2010-08-03

On April 8, 2010, President Obama and Russian President Dmitri Medvedev signed a new agreement to reduce each country’s vast arsenals of nuclear weapons. The New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START) is a modest, but critical first step in a renewed global effort to reduce the grave risks posed by nuclear weapons and to chart a path to a safer world.

The United States and Russia together possess 95 percent of the world’s approximately 20,000 nuclear weapons. These weapons are a liability, not an asset. They don’t make the world safe or address today’s real threats to our security. This treaty sends an unambiguous signal to the rest of the world that the United States and Russia are serious about reducing the nuclear threat.

To take effect, the treaty must be ratified by a two-thirds majority of the U.S. Senate, which will be difficult given the partisan divisions in Washington, D.C. these days. But if New START is not ratified, global efforts to reduce the threat of nuclear weapons and prevent their further spread will be seriously undermined.

Your senators need to hear from you! They need to know that Americans haven’t forgotten about this critical issue and support efforts to reduce the risk of nuclear weapons. Let your senators know that a safer world STARTs with this simple step-encourage them to ratify START today.

Please make your letter personal by adding in your own thoughts and concerns. Every letter makes a difference, but customized letters have the greatest effect!
