DemocracyNow.org – In Vermont, Tropical Storm Irene dropped heavy rains late on Sunday, causing flash floods, forcing hundreds of evacuations, and leaving some 40,000 to 50,000 people without power. It is becoming the state’s worst natural disaster since the Great Flood of 1927.
