The choice to play down partisan politics says a lot about Obama’s speech, and more broadly, his Presidency. Obama is someone who believes moderate solutions really can solve huge problems, but faces an opposition who sees tinkering with the welfare state as the moral equivalent of rewiring a murder machine. He’s a technocrat in an ideological age, a framing that’s crucial to understanding what’s actually going on in the CAP speech.

I mean no disrespect, but President Obama is anything but a moderate. His by out of Detroit followed progressive tactics to a t. His take over of the health insurance industry through obamacare, was a clear progressive plan. When his radical agenda cost him and his party Control of the House of Representatives, rather than pivot away from the radical progressive agenda, he doubled down. Rather than pivot to the center as Bill Clinton did, he chose instead to keep pushing radical policies, and blaming the GOP for all the failings of his policies.
President Obama is a man out of his element. He can campaign really well, but governing seems to be beyond his grasp.LikeLike

No need for that, I didn’t drink the cool aid. 😉

You drank a different kind of Kool Aid than you are referring to … the Conservative Libertarian kind …

That wasn’t cool aid, that was a vaccine against the progressive propaganda that all too many seem to believe.
A logical mind can easily see through it. An understanding of history acts as a shield against its insanity. A love of liberty gives me the strength to stand up to it.
President Obama is by no means a moderate. He is a loyal progressive. That’s all there is too it. if you would like to debate the merits of totalitarianism vs. liberty I would love to engage in it. But to claim President Obama is a moderate is like saying Chris Christy is a weight loss success story.

It is obvious it would do no good to debate anything related to politics with you, so I think we should just agree to disagree and be done with the conversation …

I have no issue with that. The offer always stands should you decide to have a civilized debate in the realm of ideas. It would be most stimulating.
God Bless.

I find it very hard to believe I could have such a debate with you, but ok.
