Photo by @stephenwilkes: A mother elephant watches over her young calf as they make their way to a nearby watering hole in the Serengeti. Elephants are very protective of their young–while traveling, calves often grab hold of the tails of their mothers, and the entire herd will keep watch to make sure the little ones stay out of harms way. A short time ago, I traveled to Africa to shoot a new #DayToNight for @natgeo—over the next few weeks, I will be sharing the photos I took along the way. #Africa #Serengeti #Elephants #Family #travel #onassignment #NatGeo by natgeo http://ift.tt/1KUh6Jo
