This is an image shot by James Parker (@JP_Astronomy) of the Great Orion Nebula on January 21, 2016 at around 2:00 a.m. from his back garden in Northamptonshire UK.

This Nebula is one of James’ favorites to observe in the night sky and take pictures of. The image you are looking at was taken with an 8″ Celesteon Telescope and a Canon DSLR Camera. The picture consists of two, 30 second exposure shots which were stacked on top of each other and then processed slightly to bring out more color and clarity.

Mr. Parker said of this photograph, “This is one of the many images I have taken of the night sky, but this one I am particularly proud of. And I hope you like it too.” We do! Thanks, James!
